Visions in Poetry from Kids Can Press

Kids Can Press has added a new book to their Visions in Poetry Series, My Letter to the World and Other Poems, written by Emily Dickinson and illustrated by Isabelle Arsenault. Visions in Poetry is for readers ages ten and up, and it is a series of classic poems that have been illustrated by contemporary artists. The books are handsome, and the artists' interpretations of the poems are distinctive and captivating.

My Letter to the World is stunning, both for Dickinson's poetry and for the beautiful illustrations by Arsenault. Kelly Harold, the author of the children's lit blog, Big A Little, recently reviewed the series and writes, "Isabelle Arsenault brings a Gothic sensibility (with a palette of blacks, whites, browns, and grays -- highlighted with just splashes of pink, orange, or yellow) to seven of Emily Dickinson's most famous poems." Harold then urges readers to "stock up now" on the books in the series.
