The Bookninja Says Farewell
Submitted by danielle on February 13, 2012 - 12:11pm
Last year, poet and book-blogger George Murray, aka “The Bookninja,” said goodbye to his blog after eight years of devotion and success. What started out as a way to communicate with other literary friends about books turned into a must-read for authors, publishers and readers alike. Bookninja quickly grew from a mere 25 viewers total to thousands of views a day. In Friday’s edition of the National Post’s Afterwords, George talks about the experience of blogging before and after it was recognized as an important media platform—and how BookNinja influenced that shift. Although George has hung up his ninja mask for the final time, we haven’t seen the last of him. Ending Bookninja has allowed George to return to his own writing. His sixth book Whiteout will be available in April from ECW Press. You can also read George's popular Questionless Books Interview series on his Open Book Author Blog. Related item from our archives |
