The longlist for the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Awards has been announced. The award is administered by the Dublin City Public Libraries, and libraries from all over the world can nominate books. There are 137 authors on the longlist, including several Canadians. The Canadian authors are:

Margaret Atwood for Moral Disorder (McClelland & Stewart), Anita Rau Badami for Can You Hear the Nightbird Call? (Knopf Canada), Peter Behren for The Law of Dreams (House of Anansi Press), Trevor Cole for The Fearsome Particles (McClelland & Stewart), Alan Cumyn for The Famished Lover (Goose Lane Editions), Madeleine Gagnon for My Name Is Bosnia (Talonbooks), Rawi Hage for De Niro's Game (House of Anansi Press), Kenneth J. Harvey for Inside (Random House Canada), Pearl Luke for Madame Zee (HarperCollins Canada), Ami McKay for The Birth House (Knopf Canada), Heather O'Neill for Lullabies for Little Criminals (HarperCollins Canada), and David Adams Richards for The Friends of Meager Fortune (Doubleday Canada).
