These literary photo walks invite participants to re-discover three iconic Toronto neighbourhoods: Kensington Market, The Beaches, and St. James Town/Cabbagetown. Lead by celebrated novelists, poets and photographers, these walks will uncover new perceptions and impressions through words and images, as these artists share their creative perspectives, stories, and insights.

Presented by Koffler Centre of the Arts and TorontoClx. Walks inspired by the collaborative Koffler X Neighbourhoods photo essays featured on Koffler.Digital:

- Kensington Market
- The Beaches
- St James Town/Cabbagetown

Walk Routes:
Please note, that we’ll be providing one school bus to shuttle those participants interested in all 3 neighbourhood walks. Seating is limited – we will accommodate on a first-come-first-served basis.

- Kensington Market, 10 AM: Meeting location tbd
- The Beaches, 11:45 AM: Toronto Public Library, Beaches branch, 2161 Queen Street East
- St James Town/Cabbagetown, 1:45 PM: Sherbourne subway station, Glen Road Entrance
(please note: each neighbourhood walk is approximately 1 hour in length, including 15-minute snack/coffee break)

How to find us: At the start of each walk, we’ll be holding Koffler X Neighbourhoods signs — you won’t be able to miss us!

Taking Public Transit: As highlighted above, we’ll be providing one school bus to shuttle those participants interested in all 3 neighbourhood walks. Please note that seating is limited – we will accommodate on a first-come-first-served basis.

About the walk teams:

Kensington Market: Joyce Wayne (professor of journalism for 27 years, and author, most recently, The Cook’s Temptation)

The Beaches: Elle Buetow (photographer specializing in storytelling images) and Catherine Graham (writer, whose work has appeared in Poetry Daily, The Malahat Review, Verse Daily, The Fiddlehead, Taddle Creek, The Humber Literary Review, The Ulster Tatler, The New Quarterly,and Poetry Ireland)

St. James Town/Cabbagetown: Antanas Sileika) novelist and director of The Humber School for Writers) and Jamaal Merrick (photographer, known on Instagram as @jamaalism)
