For anybody who has worried that poetry has become too insular, precious, or bucolic, Murakami’s TIE re-imagines the absences and ambiguities left by a poem’s brevity as ground for social provocation. With TIE we see that poetry is alive, well and fully able (should the occasion call for it) to emerge from the library or come down from the mountain.
