Hologram: A Book of Glosas

Brick Books, 1994

The best books of form poems reinvigorate old forms. Page not only manages to pull this off, but she does so by fueling her glosas with canon classics (which themselves a) are hard to not be overshadowed by, as a glosa needs to be better than the fours lines of source material it excerpts, and b) tend to get tired and old themselves after the umpteenth time they’re anthologized). And it’s a solid bit of earnest honest-to-goodness fun.
